Safety and guards
Your keys and funds
- Your funds stay in your account on each DEX, and DZERO never withdraws. On Lighter and Nado the DEX's own key format could also withdraw, but only back to your own wallet.
- Each DEX gets a trading key your wallet approves. It's stored encrypted on the DZERO server so bots run while your browser is closed. Your wallet's private key is never sent.
- Remove a key in Accounts → Manage, or revoke it on the DEX. DZERO won't remove one while a bot is in a trade there.
Guards on every open trade
- Lost leg: every 10 seconds both legs are read. If one has shrunk below 80% of its size, the other is closed.
- Margin guard: if one leg moves 60% of the way to liquidation (6% at 10x, 12% at 5x), both legs close. The bot re-enters later with fresh margin.
- Watchdog: every 30 seconds it checks each market you trade is still hedged across all your DEXs. Unhedged for 60 seconds sends an alert; for 3 minutes, it opens the opposite position on another healthy DEX and closes both once the stuck DEX answers again.
- Fast markets: no entry when price moved more than 1.5% in 5 minutes or 3% in 15.
- Repeated closes: three protective closes within 10 minutes pause new entries for an hour.
What can still go wrong
A hedge removes most price risk, not all of it. One leg can fill while the other doesn't, a DEX can go down mid-trade, a sharp move can reach a leg before it closes, and funding can turn. A DEX that doesn't answer is never acted on blindly, which also means DZERO can't fix what it can't read.
Start small, and keep free margin on every DEX.
